FAQ

Most of the cracks will be filled and fixed before the installation and you will not see a sign of them after installation.

When it comes to concrete cracks, we should know there are different types of cracks.

Spider cracks or dormant cracks are the most common ones which happen as a result of the concrete curing process. These cracks should be filled using special epoxy/polyurea based patches to make sure you have a smooth Epoxy floor.

Active cracks on the other hand are more deep cracks caused by foundation settlements, thermal expansion/contraction or construction/design error. Fixing these cracks is usually more complex and they might come back in the long run. Special cement patches like polyurea cement or epoxy mortars are used to fix these gaps to a great extent but there is no guarantee that they do not continue to grow until the underlying reason is fixed.

We understand that it’s important to have a short return to service time, especially when it comes to businesses where you have to stop all or parts of the business during the installation process. But time and patience are the keys to having a long-lasting epoxy floor if you want to be saved trouble and money in the long term.

Generally speaking, depending on the type and condition of the floor, it might take from 2 to 5 days to professionally install an epoxy floor.

We understand that peace of mind is very important for you and we believe in what we do, that’s why provide a five years warranty for all of our projects.

Our professional team will assess your floor conditions, temperature, moisture level, and hardness to choose the right preparation method, product and installation process that’s ideal for your floor.

During the warranty period, any delamination or chipping that happens as a result of a bad installation or product failure will be fixed for you free of charge.

The key to having a long-lasting Epoxy floor that does not delaminate and chip over time is proper surface preparation, product choice and installation process.

Here’s why we recommend using a professional epoxy installation team in Sydney:

  • Epoxy requires a standard profiled surface(CSP2-3) to make a good bond to the concrete, DIY kits use Acid etching for surface preparation which might not give you the standards profile. Professional installers use heavy grinding machines or shot blasting to get the standard surface profile.
  • DIY kits usually use water-based, low solid Epoxy products that are easy to install which means that 30%-50% of the product will evaporate in the curing process and you will have an epoxy thin film remaining. Professional installers use commercial quality Epoxy 90%-100% solid epoxy which requires professional installation.
  • DIY kits use a single coat system which is prone to chipping and delamination. Professional installers use a minimum of 2 to 3 coat systems to ensure the strengths durability and shininess
  • DIY kits provide a very small amount of flakes with limited options, professional installers provide full flake broadcast to the rejection system

Epoxy floors require very low maintenance. Mopping with water or mild cleaning solutions is always enough to restore a clean and shiny floor.

Your floor can withstand high temperatures from hot water and steam cleaners. This makes it the ideal solution for industrial facilities, commercial kitchens, mechanic workshops and more.

Using Polyurethane, Polyaspartic and other protective topcoats will guarantee the looks of the Epoxy floor during its lifetime.

Consider an epoxy surface for your driveway, pool area or patio, for a finish that looks great and will stand up to the elements.
